4. Home Base

In the previous episodes, we found ourselves on our island, met our guide, and we began to develop our strength. Today we will be making ourselves more at home on our islands. It begins with clearing some space.

In the Fractal Universe, Sparkspheres exist within Sparkspheres, within Sparkspheres… we, as individuals, exist within a larger Sparksphere made up of the history, culture, knowledge, politics and economics of human society: the Human Atmosphere. We each have our own personal Stillpoint, our center of balance, but the Human Atmosphere has a Stillpoint, too. We exist in a state of tension between the two. Being true to ourselves while working well with others is a balancing act.

Imagine a rope stretched between your personal Stillpoint and the Stillpoint of the Human Atmosphere. Each day, you make small adjustments to keep balance between the two. But over time, the rope has twisted upon itself, folding into kinks and coils, a spiral bind that feels shortened, tight, and restrictive. The tension builds, leaving little room to move. Yet if you pause and trace the rope back—following its path from the Human Atmosphere’s Stillpoint to your own—the knots begin to loosen. The rope straightens, length returns, and suddenly there is space again. You feel free to move, breathe, and explore your island with ease.

So, where do we begin?

Social beings, like us, are born with the capacity to connect with others. It’s a feature on your metaphysical landscape like an electrical plug that can fit into an outlet on the wall. It is the presence of the Human Atmosphere within your psyche. Whenever you are occupied with social interactions or thinking about social topics, you are there at that connection. It’s like a vast skyscraper full of people discussing everything all at once. You can wander from room to room like surfing the internet.

But now, you have found yourself at the front door, it’s open, and you step outside. It is nighttime, quiet, and there are stars overhead. The Human Atmosphere skyscraper stands alone surrounded by a natural landscape of fields and trees. The air is fresh and cool, so you go for a little walk in the refreshing calm.

As you walk, the kinks and coils are unraveling from your rope. It feels relaxing, so you keep going. When you reach the forest’s edge, you stop. If you go on, will you be stuck out here in the wilderness all alone?

Jungle Log 4: Stepping Away from the Human Atmosphere

As I was wondering if I should continue or go back, (strength archetype) and (guide) appeared.

(Strength archetype) knows about (activity). (Guide) said that this isn’t just a (place), it’s the outskirts of Jungle Island. Feeling (emotion) I joined my friends, (verb) into the forest.

Soon things started to look familiar. A (emotion) feeling came over me as the Human Atmosphere skyscraper disappeared from sight behind us. Within the skyscraper, I had been (adjective) and (adjective). Here I could (verb).

(Strength archetype) led us to a clearing that contained a cozy little village of (structures). There was a fire pit in the center with places to sit all around it. (Strength archetype) said “Welcome back! This is (name of the place).”

I wasn’t stuck out in the wilderness all alone, in fact, I already have a home here, I had just forgotten. The Human Atmosphere skyscraper isn’t going anywhere; I can return when I want to. This is (adjective). That evening we had (food) at that fire pit, just the three of us. There was room around the fire for many more. Would we find more friends?

Take a minute to reflect:

1. Tension & Release

How did you describe the rope’s state—tight, twisted, coiled? What does that reflect about your current balance between self and society?

As the rope unraveled, what feelings came up for you? Do they mirror moments in your life when you’ve created more space for yourself?

2. Companionship & Support

Who appeared with you at the forest’s edge? What does their presence symbolize about the support you need when stepping away from the Human Atmosphere?

The activity your strength archetype knows about—how does it connect to the kind of resilience or skill you want to cultivate?

3. Transition & Emotion

• What emotion did you feel as you left the skyscraper behind? Does it suggest relief, fear, excitement, or something else?

The adjectives you used to describe yourself inside the skyscraper—do they reflect how you sometimes feel in social or cultural spaces?

The verb you chose for what you could do outside—does it represent freedom, creativity, or rest?

4. Homecoming & Belonging

What structures did you imagine in the clearing? How do they symbolize the kind of community or home you long for?

The name you gave the place—what does it reveal about your sense of belonging or identity?

The adjective you chose to describe the realization that you already had a home—how does that resonate with your current life terrain?

5. Nourishment & Companionship

What food did you share at the fire pit? Does it symbolize comfort, celebration, or sustenance you’re seeking?

How did it feel to imagine room for many more around the fire? Does this suggest openness to new relationships or archetypal companions?

Closing Reflection

What surprised you most about the clearing and the village?

Do you sense that creating space on your island mirrors a need to create space in your daily life?

If more friends were to join you at the fire, who or what archetypes might they be?
