Hello, I’m Gina Jarasitis.
My book, The Unfolding World: A New Framework for Mapping Reality emerged from decades of asking big questions, reading, observing the world around me and within me, then journaling day by day. I started to realize that I was looking at the world through a new lens. I call it The Fractal Universe.
A fractal is a type of geometry that can describe natural forms. It relies on iteration of self-similar patterns to generate greater and greater complexity.
But what single pattern could possibly describe the varied world we observe? I call it a Sparksphere. It is very simple, with just five “happenings,” but it can describe all things, from the subatomic to the galactic, from the physical to the metaphysical.
The Fractal Universe is a lens that brings me a sense of being firmly grounded, seeing wonder, feeling compassion, and accepting things as they are. From this stance, I can leverage my abilities to do good for the world. That is why I gathered all of my insights from decades of journaling into The Unfolding World to share with you.
My background is in Recreation and Leisure Studies. It taught me that it isn’t necessary to be a professional in a field in order to explore it. In fact, there is a certain freedom in pursuing one’s interests as a hobby that is not available within the confines of a profession. I bring together fractal geometry, synergetics, general semantics, systems theory, philosophy and many other fields in a way readers can follow even if these subjects are unfamiliar.
I invite you to join me on an adventure into the world right in front of you, right now, seen through a wholly new framework. Every new perspective is accompanied by an Apply & Observe activity so you can experience it for yourself as we go.
We will build the lens then look through it. We will examine scientific mysteries from quantum entanglement to dark matter. We will explore Jungle Island, the inner world of the mind. Then we will find our place within The Human Atmosphere, the larger system of society.
My home is Olympia, Washington, but I live in The Fractal Universe.
