Welcome back to your Jungle Island adventure! Below is the second fill-in-the-blanks story. You have spent some time on your island, and now you are ready to start exploring, you just need a guide.
There is already someone waiting for you. Archetypes are a feature of your metaphysical world. If you have ever sensed that a small inner voice was trying to give you advice, “Not a good idea!” or “Go for it!” then you’ve already sensed your guide.
Jungle Log 2: The Sidekick
The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to stay there in the jungle by the shore. It was (adjective), I could (activity), and do some exploring…
I really could be like (a favorite hero), especially if I could find someone to be my guide and helper. I wished I had a sidekick who knew this place.
I couldn’t believe that my wish would come true so suddenly, but out from the jungle emerged someone saying, “(greeting)!” My (noun) (past tense verb) a little from the surprise, but also from (feeling). I wasn’t alone anymore! He/she sounded friendly, and he/she looked like he/she was out exploring, with (noun) and (plural noun). Apparently, he/she wasn’t another castaway, but someone who could lend me a hand.
When he/she took off his/her hat, I saw that he/she looked just like (person)! We stood there for a moment, eye to eye. He/she was beaming at me, apparently glad to see me, but not at all surprised.
This is how I met (Guide’s name).
(Guide’s name) knows the whole island. He/she was able to tell me so much. For instance, I had always been on the island.
This was (adjective). If I had been there all these years, what was I doing? I don’t remember any of it.
(Guide’s name) sighed, and explained, as gently as he/she could, that I was basically a zombie.
“(exclamation)!?”
I had been sort of sleepwalking around the island. There were paths I would follow and I could find food and water, but life was difficult because I couldn’t really (verb) or (verb). For instance, I would frequently (verb) and get entangled in the foliage. I would be (verb) with my arms and legs tangled in vines, just (verb) and (verb). (Guide’s name) would do his/her best to get me out of messes and back on track. “You could hear me a little. Do you remember that?”
“Oh, that still small voice! Of course!”
(Guide’s name) explained to me that this was, indeed, an island. It is my own island, and no one else from the physical world will ever set foot on it, nor I on their islands. This was very (adjective), and I had so many questions! We talked for hours about this strange metaphysical island. He/she never got tired of pondering with me. He/she was the most (adjective) person I ever met. That’s her nature because her sole purpose is being my number one island connection and support person—my sidekick.
